About Chad F. Claus, DO

Dr. Chad Claus is a fellowship trained neurosurgeon who specializes in cerebrovascular & endovascular surgery of the brain and spine with additional subspecialty training in minimally invasive and complex spine surgery. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology & Biochemistry from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He then went on to complete his medical degree at Western University of Health Sciences. Dr. Claus completed his training in Neurosurgery at the rigorous Michigan State University with heavy focus on cerebrovascular surgery and minimally invasive & robotic spine surgery.  

Following residency, Dr. Claus went on to complete his Neuroendovascular fellowship at the University of Alabama, Birmingham with focus on complex cerebrovascular diseases such as aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), arteriovenous fistulas, extracranial carotid disease, and ischemic stroke. During his training, Dr. Claus performed over 2000 Endovascular/Cerebrovascular surgeries, including complex aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations. Dr. Claus also performed well over 1000 minimally invasive spine (MIS) surgeries, including complex multi-level and revision fusions as well as non-fusion or motion-preservation surgeries. He has particular interest in treatment and management of extracranial cerebrovascular occlusive disease such as carotid stenosis as well as acute ischemic stroke.
