Dr. BarrettRyan J. Barrett, DO

Dr. Barrett graduated from the Midwestern University-Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2001. He then completed an Osteopathic Neurosurgical residency at Michigan State University-Providence Hospital and Medical Centers in 2007. Thereafter, he completed a subspecialty fellowship in Neuro-Oncology at the University of South Florida-Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute in 2008. Dr. Barrett was board certified in Neurosurgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery in 2008.

Dr. Barrett sub-specializes in surgical neuro-oncology. Dr. Barrett's training in surgical neuro-oncology has provided proficiency in the latest technologies involved in the treatment of oncologic conditions affecting the nervous system, like the use of stereotactic radiosurgery and laser-assisted tumor removal. Dr. Barrett is also proficient in treating general neurosurgical conditions involving both the brain and the spine.

Dr. Barrett is active in resident teaching. He became the Program Director for the Neurosurgery residency in Providence Hospital and Medical Centers, Department of Osteopathic Surgical Specialties, Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2011. Dr. Barrett became the Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Osteopathic Surgical Specialities, Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2011.
